| Southwest Virginia Children’s Choir Spring 2012 Just a few reminders for this Monday, May 14, 2012: 1. Concert - Monday, May 14, at 7:00. Southwest Virginia Community College in the Mary Lawson Auditorium. Choir members will go to college as usual. Rehearse-Snack-Dress-Concert @7:00 2. Be sure to bring black pants, socks, and shoes with you to rehearsal. Note: If you have a long sleeve white button-down shirt, bring it in case you new shirt doesn't fit (we will order you another size before we go to Atlanta. 3. If choir members need a red/blue tie-dye shirt or if parents would like to order shirt, you may do so at the concert Monday. They are $14 each - 1XL and larger are $3.00 extra. 4. Primary/Elementary/Middle School Music Russell County Schools Greetings! The Trip. We are still finalizing our plans and itinerary for Atlanta. At this point I do know that we will be leaving from Lebanon early (7 A.M.) Friday, June 8, 2012, singing Friday night at the Braves game, staying two nights, singing Sunday morning, a little more sight-seeing, and then we head home Sunday evening. There is a $50 non-refundable trip fee that will be due April. Hopefully, (not positive at this time) that is all the students will have to pay. All parents and siblings will have to pay full amount - about $200.0 per person. There are 3 options for parents: Option #1 Chaperon Trip (chaperons will be selected ) #2 Go on the “Parent” bus – pay trip rate and stay in same hotel and tickets to events) #3 Drive yourself but stay in same hotel and tickets to events – pay hotel & tickets only Remaining rehearsals: April 30 Reminder to students and parents: The $50 trip deposit (for choir members and any family members who are going on the trip) is due Monday, April 30. May 14 & 21 June 4, Atlanta Trip-June 8-10 Choir members and parents: The Southwest Virginia Children's Choir will be performing their Spring concert on Monday, May 14, in the Auditorium at Southwest Virginia Community College. The concert will begin at 7:00. Choir members will come to rehearsal as usual that day - 4:30. We will have a short rehearsal, snack supper, change for concert, then begin our performance at 7:00. It is important that ALL choir members be at rehearsal this Monday, May 7!! We are having pictures made for the Atlanta Braves baseball program. You need to be in that picture! Concert Attire: All choir members will wear black pants, black socks, black shoes (no sandals), and white shirt (We have purchased white shirts for the choir members to use for their performances. These shirts will be given out before each performance and returned after the performance. No one will be allowed to take these shirts home with them.) Bring your black pants, socks and shoes to rehearsl May 14. We will also wear this for the church service in Atlanta on June 10. Attire for Baseball game - June 8 The choir members will be wearing their red/blue tie-dye choir shirts to sing the National Anthems at the Atlanta Braves Baseball game, Friday, June 8. They must wear khaki shorts, tie-dye shirt, white tennis shoes. The shorts must be long/Bermuda shorts - NO MORE THAN 2" ABOVE THE KNEE - NO SHORT/SHORTS! And preferably a lighter colored khaki. You can get them at Old Navy (or oldnavy.com) at a great price - $13. Girls style #856643/stone color and Boys style #898581/ couscous color. Red/Blue Tie-Dye Choir Shirts: Choir members: If you do not have a shirt (or parents if you are interested), we will be ordering more tie-dye shirts. They are $14 each (+$3 for each size over XL. For ex. 2XL = $17 amd 3XL = $20). They run SMALL, so I suggest you order a larger size. I need to have shirt orders, sizes and money by Monday, May 14. I have a 'few' extra shirts available if choir members want to purchase one for the choir picture this Monday. They are $14 and I mostly have adult small, medium, and large.
