***Party 12:00 -Monday afternoon - Tonya and Amanda have planned a party for our class to celebrate our year!  Thank you ladies!  Everyone welcome if weather permits - on the side of the building near the parking lot.  If weather is not cooperative we will just watch a movie and convert to a drop off treat.  Lets pray for nice weather!  Hope you can come!

Water Day 5/23/12   11:30

***Mark your calendars - our end of the year celebration - known as "water day" at Dudley - May 23rd - (5/24 rain date).   Kindergarten water day starts at 11:30 - parents welcome

Please send a bathing suit, flip flops - easy take on and off to get from one event to the next.  You may want to apply sunscreen before coming to school.  The school usually provides sunscreen but we have to have permission to put it on the students.  This is the most fun day of the year!   Please do not send in bathing suit - or if boys wear trunks as shorts please, send underclothes and dry clothes for later.  Cool

Thank you so much for your support for Sarah Jones last Friday.   You were so generous and it is very much appreciated!    We had over 1,000 in donations.

 This week we will be focusing on the following concepts:
Reading - practice for fluency - review-  practice handwriting and creative writing.  We are just going to use what we know!

Read with your child daily or nightly!  Have them pick out words that they recognize or words they can decode!  It is a special time for both of you!  Share in this new found joy!

We are writing simple sentences using capital letters as the first letter, punctuation, and spacing.  We are writing on lined paper and practicing our handwriting skill

Math --add and subtract sets and review

Science and social studies -  review the SOL's for these subjects

If your child is absent please send an excuse.  If they saw a doctor please have them bring in the doctor's excuse.

Please have your child here on time each morning - Our reading starts promptly at 8:15.

High Frequency Word List - Please make a set of flash cards for your child and review them frequently this summer
