Please send 50 cents with your child to pay for the stamped envelope for their report card to be mailed.

We are entering into a very important time of the year for our students: Assessment time. Students will be taking several tests to see how they have progressed this year. We will be giving them the PALs test for phonological awareness, Elgin screening for progress, MAPs skills test in math and reading, and of course, report card assessment. It is important that your child is in attendance at school, is well rested, had a good breakfast, and is prepared to do their best work. Your child's score will have a bearing on which Workshop group he or she will be placed in for next year. Please make every effort to talk with your child about the importance of these tests. The students have done a wonderful job this year and I hope to see a lot of progress on all these assessments.

Reading- We are reviewing many of the concepts that have been taught this year: letter sounds, short and long vowel sounds, ABC order, word order in sentences, beginning, middle, and ending sounds in words, rhyming, word order in sentences, etc.

The high frequency word list is given below. Please go over these words with your child each night. They are responsible to know them when we read and for their report card assessment.
