The Content Literacy Continuum (CLC) is a program at TMS that is focused upon establishing a school-wide approach to helping all students with literacy. Our school is led by the Strategic Instruction Model (SIM) team that works with administration, teachers, and staff to implement and maintain literacy standards to improve student performance on state testing. There are five levels of implementation involved with CLC. Students are identified and provided the level of instruction that is required to improve their literacy needs. Please visit our CLC webpage for more information. |
The Wilson Reading System is an intensive reading program designed to help students who struggle with encoding and decoding. Small group (six or less) instruction ensures that each student’s needs are being met as they move through lessons. Students are identified due to test scores and parent/teacher referral. Formal assessments are conducted to determine eligibility. Wilson instructors must go through a year-long practicum to obtain licensure and teach this program. If you have any questions about the program please contact TMS. |
Just Words is an accelerated study of word structure for students in grades 4-12 who do not require intensive intervention, but still need reading support. Students meet daily in groups of up to 15 to address decoding and spelling deficits. Just Words is a component of the Wilson Reading System. |
