   The Pep Club is new this year to Tazewell High School. Sponsored by Mrs. Melett Smith, the Pep club has had several projects already this year. The club came up with an innovative idea for a spirit link competition this year. Each class was assigned a color and students could purchase links in that color for 10¢. It was a great contest with the students raising over $1400.00 dollars. One half of the proceeds went to the Senior class for their project graduation. Also, the club decorates the football stands before every home game . The club is trying to bring back the tradition of students sitting in front of the press box.
    The club meets the 3rd Wednesday of each month in room 225. As of October, there were 50 members in the Pep Club. Membership continues to grow weekly and dues are $5.
