TAZEWELL HIGH SCHOOL HISTORY
In 1894 Tazewell High School is under the direction of a new principal, Mr. George C. Peery, who later becomes the Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Peery serves only two years as principal; he resigns to attend law school at Washington and Lee School of Law. By the middle of the 1890s the enrollment at THS reaches 75 students. THS also establishes its first band by 1898.
