Freshman Focus

Freshman Focus is intended to inform and educate students in their first year at Tazewell High School.  During the freshman year, we will be checking on each freshman to evaluate progress.

Our aim is to decrease the ninth grade retention rate, bolster attendance rates, increase extracurricular participation, boost school spirit, and of course, increase the likelihood that students finish and graduate from high school.

This year’s coordinators for Freshman Focus are Vera Austin (vaustin@tazewell.k12.va.us) and Larry Hypes (lhypes@tazewell.k12.va.us).  Please contact us with any concern you may have as a student, parent or educator.
