BETA BOWL
Tazewell High School
Tazewell, Virginia

Tazewell High School's intramural academic competition, the Beta Bowl, was started in 1986. This competition includes a question/answer period filled with a variety of content questions. In the first preliminary, the juniors face off against the freshmen, and in the second round, the seniors compete against the sophomores. The two winners of these rounds then battle one another for the championship.

Students at THS are selected by their teachers to play for his or her class in the Beta Bowl. Teachers nominate four students from each grade level to participate in the competition. The top six nominees  from each class are eligible to compete in the competition. These members include the top vote recipient, who is named captain, three other playing members, and two alternates.

The Beta Bowl is sponsored by the Senior Beta Club, sponsored by Mrs. Leesa Peery and and Mrs. Jill Rhudy.
