What you need to know. . .
When Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss, wrote Oh, the Places You'll GO! in 1990, he had no idea where today's children would be able to "go" from the comfort of their own homes. Our children today are part of what is becoming known as a participatory culture. While adults tend to use the Internet primarily as a tool to search the world wide web and to email others, children are already content producers. They email, chat with friends, play games, and participate in online social networking such as MySpace, Facebook, Club Penguin, and Imbee. Even though children adapt to new technologies more quickly than adults, many do not have the experience or knowledge to understand the potential risks.  The TCPS Internet safety site provides you with the opportunity to become familiar with ways to keep your children safe at home while they explore the wonders of the Internet.
